T-Cards Online integration

About the User: this project was commissioned by a client who provides bore (drilling) solutions for customers in market sectors including the aerospace, oil & gas, nuclear, scientific instruments/medical, automotive and power generation industries. We already maintain their existing Xojo development platform based ERP software solution they use to manage Jobs through the various operations and departments any given order might be processed through. In order to have better visibility and more effectively collaborate between the departments, they implemented T-Cards Online to replace their manual, physical T-Card system. In a push to make their internal processes more efficient, they then commissioned us to build an integration between the Xojo ERP system and T-Cards Online.

Project Brief: the client wanted to use their Xojo ERP solution to initiate the Board items in T-Cards Online which would then serve as the focal point for organising and collaborating between the various bore departments to schedule operations in delivering the order. The summary brief for the project therefore was to read Job, Operation and Customer information from the Xojo ERP system to create Board Items, then read back any changes to the scheduling back.

Features:

  • Reading Job, Operation, Machine and Customer information from the Xojo ERP system database.
  • Writing Board Items to T-Cards Online on User request.
  • Reading Board Items changes from T-Cards Online on an automated schedule to update the Xojo ERP system database.
  • A comprehensive set of Configuration options to allow field mappings to be modified, etc.

Benefits:

  • A considerable amount of time saved and accuracy improved creating T-Cards as opposed to manually copy/pasting or exporting/importing between the two systems.
  • Greater visibility across the business of what Jobs are in progress and scheduled.
  • Greater visibility across the business as to when Jobs are expected to be completed.
  • Improved collaboration between departments and machine rooms to ensure Jobs are completed within the expected timescales.
  • Checks and balances to ensure Job Operations are run in order, and moved across departments / machine rooms effectively.
  • Once configured, due to the simplicity of the User triggered processes, it is very easy to train users on the features.
