QuoteWerks & QuickBooks Reporting

For use with: QuoteWerks v4.0 build 17 to v25.0 build 1.18.

About the User: This project was commissioned by a client who works in the exhibitions and events industry. They sought to improve their data management and reporting processes by integrating their existing QuoteWerks and QuickBooks systems.

Project Brief: the client approached us to develop a custom integration between their existing QuoteWerks and QuickBooks systems. The goal was to enhance their reporting capabilities by creating a seamless data flow between the two platforms, enabling complex reporting and commission calculations.

The work-in-progress videos below illustrate how the custom Excel spreadsheet worked to allow the User to quickly and easily generate the Commission Reconciliation report.

  • Data integration with the QuoteWerks database to read Document and Line Item information.
  • Data extraction of Bill, Credit Card Charge, Customer, Sales Order, Sales Invoice and Vendor information from QuickBooks database using the QuickBooks Desktop API into a separate reporting database for querying.
  • Automated overnight data refresh.
  • Manual initiation option for data updates.
  • Dynamic data retrieval based on a QuoteWerks document number being entered into the spreadsheet.
  • Detailed reporting on vendor invoices, customer invoices, freight costs, etc. and commission calculations.
  • A Configuration Utility to setup of database paths, QuickBooks API access, user interface settings , and field mappings.
  • Flexibility to modify Configuation settings without redeveloping the utilities.
